Digitcom is expanding its Toronto head office. We started construction on our new office area about two weeks ago and will be adding about 15 new desk spaces. This addition marks our second expansion since occupying our current space in 2008, our first having come in 2011 when we added a few thousand square ft. to accommodate our new warehouse.
The good news is that the need for expansion means we’re growing and business has been excellent. The bad news, however, is that in the meantime we have two people without desks, so we are forced to find some makeshift office solutions to hold us over. We are thankful that our landlord was able to accommodate our expansion, as it has allowed us to avoid yet another move and we fully expect the new space to be ready by the end of July at the latest.
The plan is to relocate the sales team to the new space, which will be next to boardroom; convenient positioning considering the sales team uses the boardroom more than any other group. We’re also building an additional meeting room, a much needed space given that our current boardroom is booked solid with endless back-to-back meetings. While we are certainly excited about the prospect of having some extra elbow room while we work I will admit, though, that the end of construction can’t come soon enough, as the constant noise and dust can become somewhat tiresome.
